Our dynamic team is looking for a Social Entrepreneurship Specialist to join our team. The position falls within the frame of innovative girls’ and women’s IT & entrepreneurship training program. The (Social) Entrepreneurship trainer is in charge of facilitating entrepreneurship courses and coaching aspiring women entrepreneurs in an innovative incubation program in Nairobi. The program is implemented jointly by EmpServe Kenya & W4.
Empower and Serve Kenya (EmpServe) is a nonprofit organisation that is committed to supporting and building the capacities of young women and local communities to develop solutions that have a social impact. We emphasize IT skills enhancement, enterprise development, and transitioning young women to jobs, further training, or running successful social enterprises. To optimize opportunities in the digital economy and address the challenges of unemployment for youth; we have implemented several training programs.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
- Have a Diploma or Degree in entrepreneurship, Business Management, Community Development or any other relevant discipline.
- Demonstrate at least 3+ yrs of proven experience in the field of entrepreneurship, preferably social entrepreneurship, incubation and startup support.
- Demonstrate expertise providing training and capacity building, mentoring and project development support for social enterprise and entrepreneurs.
- Proficiency in using computers for word processing, presentations, excel. e-mail and social media marketing.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Have great attention to details.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake below tasks, among others;
- Facilitating the training on the entrepreneurship modules at the W4-EmpServe Hub.
- Supporting the entrepreneurship trainees as they ideate and develop their social enterprise concepts and projects.
- Liaising with the EmpServe and W4 teams to pair participants with experienced mentors to provide personalized guidance and support connections with industry professionals, potential partners, and investors.
- Assisting with organizing relevant events implemented within the Digital Incubation Program frame.
- Keep accurate records of the beneficiaries including training attendance and program graduation/transitions.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend additional resources or training interventions as needed.
