Thrive Program
Community Adaptation , Resilience Building & Sustainability
Thrive empowers youth and communities to build all-round resilience — social, economic, and environmental — through locally led action. Rather than waiting for external interventions, Thrive positions people as leaders of eco-social innovation — people who can design stronger systems that sustain well-being.
From food security and livelihoods to mental health, leadership, and social cohesion, Thrive creates spaces where communities learn, innovate, and support one another. Whether it’s restoring degraded land, improving local food systems, fostering peacebuilding, or building social enterprises, Thrive equips young leaders with the tools, networks, and mindset to bounce back — and build forward — together.
What Makes Thrive Diffferent
Thrive is community-rooted and youth-driven. It doesn’t impose solutions; it empowers youth to co-create them with their communities. Projects are designed to be practical, sustainable, and owned by the people they benefit. With youth as leaders, the model ensures long-term stewardship of land and resources.
KEY APPROACHES UNDER THE PROGRAM
- Youth-led ecological restoration projects (tree planting, agroecology, water harvesting, land regeneration).
- Training in climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy solutions.
- Mobilization around food sovereignty, land justice, and clean energy access.
- Participatory community mapping and resilience planning workshops.
- Intergenerational dialogues — bringing elders and youth together to share knowledge for social cohesion and inclusive planning
Projects Under This Program

SIEVE – The Social Innovation Eco-Village
SIEVE is a living lab for resilience . It is youth-led, community-powered space where sustainable living meets social innovation. Designed as a model eco-village in Kajiado, it brings together learning, livelihoods, and local solutions under one roof.
Through hands-on training, regenerative practices, and enterprise incubation, SIEVE empowers youth and communities to co-create systems that support food security, clean energy, mental wellbeing, and inclusive development. It’s not just a place — it’s a movement shaping how communities can thrive in balance with people and planet.
Through a blend of interactive in-class workshops and networking sessions, participants learn practical skills in financial management, digital marketing, customer retention, and business resilience. The program also connects MSMEs to peer learning groups, mentorship, and coaching that provide real-world guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and sector professionals.
