Our dynamic team is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ICT Intern to join our Nairobi team. The intern will work under the ICT department within the framework of an innovative girls’ and women’s IT & entrepreneurship training program, implemented jointly by EmpServe Kenya & W4.
Empower and Serve Kenya (EmpServe) is a nonprofit organisation that is committed to supporting and building the capacities of young women and local communities to develop solutions that have a social impact. We emphasize IT skills enhancement, enterprise development, and transitioning young women to jobs, further training, or running successful social enterprises.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
- Must be a holder of a degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Applicants should be a recent graduate with no more than one(1) year since graduation. Those awaiting graduation can also apply.
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital learning platforms.
- Basic understanding of ICT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Must be available on a full-time basis, for the entire period of the internship which will be for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake below tasks, among others;
- Providing ICT Support to staff and students,
- Perform system backups and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of digital learning content, including e-learning modules, videos, and interactive materials.
- Contribute to ongoing ICT and digital learning projects, ensuring timely delivery of tasks.
- Assist in research and implementation of new digital learning technologies and tools.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend additional resources or training interventions as needed.
